Gastric Cancer Month

One of the reasons for launching this blog in November is that it's the month that I was diagnosed with Signet Ring Gastric Cancer five years ago. The other reason is that it's Gastric Cancer Month.

Stomach cancer is less prevalent in the United States; there are about 25,000 new cases annually, compared with 300,000 cases of breast cancer. But breast cancer has an 89% survival rate, while the survival rate for stomach cancer is 30%, according to National Cancer Institute data.

If you'd like to support finding a cure, please check out the Gastric Cancer Foundation.
